Dear Caregivers and Conservators of Double G Campers,
Double G Camp is a long standing tradition of Orange Grove Center. It is not only an important part of our legacy, but an extremely important part of our campers' lives and well-being. The Department of Health Promotion and Recreation takes pride in planning this special week and leaves no stone unturned when it comes to the health and safety of our campers.
The dates for this year’s camp are June 2 – 7, 2019. The camp fee for 2019 for each overnight camper is $495 and $125 for day campers. This will still cover every possible safeguard necessary for the welfare of our campers and staff. These funds will be used to cover the general needs of camp such as: food; staff; activities; background screening; as well as a RN and Medication Administration Certified staff. All expenses are necessary to offer our campers the safest week while at camp.
We are aware that it may be difficult for some campers to acquire this amount of money for the registration fee; therefore, the Department of Health Promotion and Recreation has a GG Camp Scholarship Fund. Partial scholarships will be available for campers who are in need of financial assistance.
More information on how to apply for financial assistance from the scholarship fund is included with this letter. Anyone interested in applying for a scholarship of some kind must write a letter explaining why the camper is in need of a scholarship, the amount requested and two letters of reference. All scholarship requests are due by Monday, April 22, 2019. Please mail to: Orange Grove Center; 615 Derby Street Chattanooga, TN 37404; Attn: Rachael Loftin, Accounting.
The regular Camp Registration will take place in the Habilitation Center on APRIL 30th & MAY 2nd 2019 from 12:00 – 4:00 each day.
Double G Camp is the highlight of the year for many of the individuals we serve. We look forward to it nearly as much as the campers, and can't wait to share the experience with them. This is why we take every possible measure to ensure that no camper is left behind.
