Careathers honored for years of service to Orange Grove Center

Orange Grove Center announces the retirement of Iris Faye Careathers (holding a plaque that was presented by Donna Jones of ACT), a long-time employee who worked for the center for 15 years.

Careathers worked in various departments, including Children’s Services and Residential Services, as a direct support employee and house manager. Most recently, she worked in Adult Comprehensive Training (ACT), where she spent her days giving motherly love and care to those she served.

“Miss Faye,” as she was called, was well-respected and loved by everyone.  Her colleagues chose her as recipient of the ACT Employee of the Year in 2009.  Most notably, she is known for telling everyone, “I love my job."

Recently, Careathers was honored by Orange Grove administrators, staff, family and friends with a retirement reception in her honor.  She was presented with a memorial engraved brick, which will be placed in the courtyard at Orange Grove Center.
