Darcy Owens is the Assistant Director of Adult Services, with a focus in community services. She is responsible for oversight and continued development of community-based day programs.
Her duties include working in the community to grow relationships with Orange Grove's business partners, who contract with us for services and/or employ the individuals we serve. Owens came to Orange Grove in 1984, and during her tenure she has had many different roles, including classroom teacher, client program coordinator, social worker, vocational supervisor, and Director of Children’s Services. As the director of education, Darcy supervised 13 classrooms, the school's nurse’s department, transportation, recreation, music and behavioral support services.
Owens is a graduate of the State University of New York College at Buffalo, with a major in psychology and a minor in sociology. She received her master’s from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in diagnostic prescriptive education. She also has a Tennessee teacher’s license with Special Education Endorsement, and is a Career Ladder I status teacher.
