Tennessee Lady Vols head coach, Holly Warlick, was this year's speaker for Breakfast for Champions. The annual event is Orange Grove's way of thanking those who contribute to the many services and programs for individuals served by the Center.
Warlick spoke to supporters, administrators and contributors, providing words of encouragement and continuance in supporting the Center and persons served.
The former Lady Vol and assistant coach under Pat Summitt recently led her squad to an impressive season of 29 wins and 6 losses, and a close shot at appearing in the 2014 NCAA Final Four.
Coach Warlick has the distinction of being the first female sports figure, legend and/or hero to speak at Breakfast for Champions. She joins Gene Stallings (Alabama); sportscasters Lindsey Nelson and Bob Kesling (Tennessee), Bill Curry (ESPN), Mike Keith (Tennessee Titans); Vince Dooley (Georgia); Phil Fulmer, Bruce Pearl, Derek Dooley and Butch Jones (Tennessee); and Wes Moore, Rodney Allison, John Shulman and Russ Huesman (UTC).
We thank Coach Warlick and her staff for their time, patience and understanding of our mission to serve adults and children in need of our services. An extra special thank you to Doris Shropshire and Shira Shropshire for sharing their story as part of this year's theme, "Soaring Above the Challenge."
